Jimmy Owens scores pair of Top-10 finishes with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Making the long trip to the Northeast, Jimmy Owens returned to Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series action on Friday afternoon at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway for the $19,049-to-win Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.
Stopping the clock fifth-quickest in his qualifying group, Jimmy finished second in his heat race before starting the 49-lap feature from the third-row and finishing just outside the Top-5 in sixth.
Saturday's event at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway was cancelled due to rain.
With the field elevated to 47 entries at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on Sunday, Owens was victorious in his heat race which earned him the third-place starting spot. With a $10,000 payday up for grabs, Owens faded but still finished inside the Top-10 in eighth.
Owens is currently seventh in the LOLMDS point standings.
