Owens and Koehler take on Dirt Late Model Dream; Owens seventh in Eldora Prelim

On Thursday afternoon, Jimmy Owens and Jordan Koehler unloaded their Koehler Motorsports No. 20 and No. 114 Late Models at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.

With the massive 95-car field split into two groups, Owens transferred into the second $12,000-to-win preliminary feature and recorded an 11th-place outing while Koehler raced into his first-career Dirt Late Model Dream prelim, but was an early retiree on lap 24.

For another round of prelims on Friday, Jimmy topped the charts in his qualifying group and picked up the victory in his heat race. Jordan was fifth-quickest in his group but fell back in his heat race to finish ninth and was unable to grab a transfer spot in his Last Chance Showdown. For his second preliminary feature of the weekend, Owens battled inside the Top-10 and landed a seventh-place finish.

For Saturday's $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream, Owens started third in his heat race but slipped back to finish 11th. In the final heat race of the night, Jordan finished seventh before finishing outside of a transfer position in the LCS. Receiving a provisional starting spot in the Dirt Late Model Dream, Owens started 20th and was unable to make up any spots with the track taking rubber early in the 100-lapper. Jimmy was scored 24th in the final rundown.

Wrapping up an extended weekend on Monday at Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Ind.) with the XR Super Series, Jimmy transferred to the main event with a third-place finish in his heat while Jordan was unable to crack the field in his B-Main. For the $100,000-to-win feature, Owens was an early retiree and was scored 23rd.
