Busy Weekend for Koehler Motorsports

It was a busy weekend for Koehler Motorsports racers.

Jimmy Owens and Jordan Koehler opened the festivities on Thursday night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series.

The $10,000-to-win program drew a field of 47 entries to the 3/8-mile oval. Jordan found himself behind the eight ball early in the night in qualifying and was unable to bounce back as his night ended early with a 12th-place finish in a B-Main.

Meanwhile, Jimmy qualified fourth fastest in his group before finishing third in his heat race to lock into the 12th-starting spot for the 40-lap $10,000-to-win feature. Unfortunately, a melee on the 30th circuit sent him to the back of the back. He rebounded to finish 22nd.

On Friday Owens followed the WoO contingent for the opening round of the inaugural Bama Gang 100 at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.). Sixty-two entries took part in the program with the field divided into three preliminary features.

Jimmy started ninth in his prelim feature, but challenging track conditions forced him pitside to an 18th-place finish. He elected to scratch from the balance of the weekend.

Saturday competition took Jordan to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for a $5,000-to-win Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event. Twenty-four competitors entered the event, and after qualifying third fastest in time trials, Koehler locked into the third-starting spot for the 40-lap finale.

He ran in the Top 10 throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in ninth.
